Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Thank You For Your Business LLC ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Auto Screenshot Figma plugin and the Auto Screenshot macOS companion app (together, the "Software"), and the Auto Screenshot website at autoscreenshot.website (the "Website").

The Software does not require an account and is designed to operate locally on your computer. We do not operate servers that receive or store user content. The limited circumstances in which information is transmitted to third parties are described in Sections 3 and 4.

1. Information we do not collect through the Software

The Software does not collect, receive, or store:

  • Names, email addresses, or passwords. The Software has no account system
  • The URLs you capture or the screenshot images produced
  • Usage data, session recordings, page views, clicks, or engagement metrics
  • Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or location data
  • The contents of your Figma files. The plugin adds images to your document and does not read existing document content

The Software does not include analytics tools, advertising technologies, or crash or error reporting services, and does not set cookies. Analytics on the Website are described in Section 4.

2. Information stored locally on your device

The plugin runs inside Figma. The companion app runs on your Mac and operates your locally installed copy of Google Chrome. Pages are loaded and screenshots are produced on your device, and the resulting images are placed on your Figma canvas. This processing occurs locally.

The Software stores the following information on your device. This information is not transmitted to us:

  • Figma plugin storage: your URL table, screen sizes, option settings, and plugin window size
  • ~/.auto-screenshot/license.json: your licence key and activation id, plan, the current month, and a count of capture batches run
  • ~/.auto-screenshot/helper.log: a log of application activity, used for the Session Logs panel and troubleshooting
  • ~/.auto-screenshot/chrome-profile: a dedicated Chrome browser profile used for capturing
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Auto Screenshot/: the application's program files

The dedicated Chrome profile functions as a standard browser profile and retains cookies and session data for websites you capture, including any sessions you sign in to within that profile. This data remains on your device until deleted. Section 7 describes how to delete it.

3. Information transmitted by the Software

3.1 Screenshots placed in your Figma file

When a capture is placed on the canvas, the image becomes part of your Figma document and is stored by Figma on Figma's infrastructure, subject to Figma's privacy policy. The image is accessible to anyone the file is shared with. We do not receive these images.

3.2 Update checks

The companion app periodically requests a static file describing the current software version in order to notify you when an update is available. This file is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure. The request does not include identifiers, account information, licence information, or usage data. As with any network request, the hosting provider receives your IP address and may record it in standard server logs. The plugin alone, without the companion app, does not make this request.

3.3 Licence activation

Purchases are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Polar collects your name, email address, and payment details directly. We do not receive or store payment card details. Polar's handling of this information is governed by Polar's privacy policy.

If you activate a licence, the Software transmits the following to Polar:

  • The licence key and its activation id
  • Your computer's name, which is used to identify which machines a licence is active on and to allow you to release a seat
  • A label identifying the application

A computer name may contain personally identifying information (for example, a name assigned by macOS setup). You can change your computer's name in System Settings > General > About before activating.

If you do not activate a licence, the Software does not communicate with Polar.

4. Website analytics

The Website uses PostHog, an analytics service, to collect information about how visitors use the site. This may include pages viewed, referring pages, interactions with the site, browser and device information, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP address. PostHog may use cookies or similar technologies on the Website for this purpose.

We use this information to understand how the Website is used and to improve it. PostHog processes this information on our behalf, subject to PostHog's privacy policy.

This collection applies only to the Website. The Software does not include analytics, as described in Section 1.

5. How information is used

The information described above is used solely to provide and improve Auto Screenshot: to deliver update notifications, to validate licences, and to understand and improve the Website.

We do not sell personal data, share personal data for advertising purposes, or use personal data to build user profiles.

6. Third-party services

  • Figma hosts the plugin and your files, including placed screenshots. Figma's policy governs plugin usage data Figma collects independently
  • Polar is the merchant of record for purchases and provides licence validation. Polar's policy governs purchase and billing information
  • PostHog provides analytics for the Website. PostHog's policy governs the Website usage data described in Section 4
  • Cloudflare hosts the Website, the application download, and the version file. Cloudflare's policy governs its standard server logs, including IP address
  • Google Chrome is the browser operated by the companion app, installed on your device. Google's policy governs browsing data within the capture profile

Figma may independently collect information about plugin installs and usage. We do not control and do not receive this information. Please refer to Figma's privacy policy.

7. Deleting your data

Data stored by the Software resides on your device and can be removed as follows:

  • Plugin settings: Settings > Reset settings in the plugin
  • Licence, logs, and the Chrome profile: delete the ~/.auto-screenshot/ directory
  • The application: follow the uninstall steps in the plugin's Install panel to remove the background service, then delete ~/Library/Application Support/Auto Screenshot/ and move the application to the Trash
  • Licence seat: use "Remove licence from this Mac" in Settings to release the seat for use on another machine

For information held by Polar in connection with a purchase, use Polar's customer portal or contact us for assistance. For Website analytics data, contact us at the address in Section 13.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing. Because the Software stores data locally on your device, most data can be accessed and deleted directly as described in Section 7. Information related to purchases is held by Polar.

To make a privacy request, email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request". We may need to verify your identity before responding.

9. Data retention

We do not retain personal data on our systems beyond the Website analytics described in Section 4. Locally stored files remain on your device until you delete them. Polar retains purchase records in accordance with its own policies and applicable tax and accounting requirements. Cloudflare retains server logs in accordance with its own retention schedule. Website analytics data is retained in PostHog in accordance with our configuration and PostHog's policies.

10. Children

Auto Screenshot is a professional design tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal in formation in connection with Auto Screenshot, please contact us.

11. Security

The companion app is signed with an Apple Developer ID, notarised by Apple, and verifies Apple's signature on updates before installing them. Locally stored settings and licence information are protected by your operating system's user account and file permissions. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will be posted with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes, including any change to the categories of information collected or transmitted, will be identified in the updated policy.
